Amadeus is a bed that is a showstopper in every sense of the word! Designed by Maurizio Manzoni and Roberto Tapinassi, the frame of this gorgeous bed is clad in plush leather, and you have a choice between synthetic and soft versions. It is a bed design where the headboard makes the biggest visual impact and adds pattern to the contemporary space without ever seeming out of style.

If you haven’t tackled your gift wrapping yet, you’re in luck — this is our second DIY today to feature super cheap, super fast and super cute giftwrap and decor projects. This one comes from Sara Rivka Dahan, the DIY expert behind the site Creative Jewish Mom. While at the store, Sara spotted these blank price tag stickers and found herself drawn to their graphic shape and pretty neon hues. I love the simple designs she’s made on the kraft paper gifts, and the snowflakes are awesome as well; they feel so modern and abstract that they could be perfect for any holiday. Except for the stickers, you probably have all the supplies on hand, making this a great last-minute project for a party. Thanks so much for sharing, Sara!

It would be the perfect home for Sarah were it not for the fact they can’t have cats. “I have offered bribes and contracts and everything I can think of to our landlord but we just can’t have a cat.” Luckily, Cat Town Cafe, America’s first permanent cat cafe, is within walking distance. It also happens to be one of several non-profit groups where Sarah has volunteered her design work. Other than the lamentable absence of a cat, I can imagine that an ideal evening would be spent in Sarah and Matthew’s gorgeous home, listening to their records, sipping Matthew’s flawlessly mixed cocktails, all while coveting that unbelievable crown molding. And, of course, toasting Sarah on her courageous and inspired decision to reimagine her life.

All of us would love the comfort of a walk-in closet, and with modern bespoke designs that save up on space, that dream is becoming a reality for homeowners today more than ever before. The walk-in closet that you choose must meet the specific demands of your clothing and accessory collection, and a good idea is to take into account what you love to shop for and your dressing style before you settle on a final design. Some of us might want more coat space, while others could devote an entire section to their large shoe collection!

So many of my childhood memories revolve around my parents’ dining room. It’s played host to all four of us kids’ high school and college graduation dinners, 15 years worth of Christmas breakfasts, and every birthday of mine since I was 13. Painted in a rich cranberry color, the room has become a symbol for laughter and bonding, and a place where both sides of my family have cried tears of joy and sadness. That being said, I’m never surprised when other homeowners gush over how important their dining room has been to them, too. Over time, their spaces have gathered more and more memories, each one becoming permanently etched in the grain of a wooden table or the cushion of a chair.

“The goal all along was to figure out how to make the house feel as wide as possible while preserving as much as possible,” Sam echoes. “The original details are actually quite grand, so we wanted to show them off as much as possible. Removing the wall between the front parlor and the original library (now kitchen) transformed the whole house. It exposed the central staircase which deserves to be seen. And Sarah’s design truly maximizes every square inch of space there is.”

We’ve all been there. Faced with a room that desperately needs an update, but a wallet that desperately needs a fill-up. Redesigning a room doesn’t come cheap, especially when factoring in all-new furniture and fixtures. Oftentimes, one might find themselves ogling over home goods in shop catalogues, but opting to wait a little longer on the renovation because of their ultimate price tag. When Felicia Brickey of Little Brick Home encountered this issue with her kitchen, however, she was undeterred. Instead of handing over an arm and a leg for big-bucks designer furnishings, she opted to get the same look through the DIY route, furnishing the room with a mixture of self-made creations and budget finds. The results, achieved for a little shy of $400, are even better than the pricy alternative. The space went from drab and ordinary to elegant and charming. Check out all of the pictures plus links to the DIYs and product sources after the jump!

In an ideal world, we would all move into our respective apartments and houses, hire a few contractors, buy some furniture, and pump out our brand-new dream home in a couple of days. This, however, is largely out of the question for most of us—budget, not to mention time and other commitments, often gets in the way. This is why home renovation projects, no matter how completed they are in one’s mind, can often span across several years. No matter how begrudgingly we accept this reality, a beautiful home, one that you can truly call your own, is definitely worth the wait (and saved pennies). Just ask Adri and Jeremy Lentine, the adorable couple behind Dream Book Design. They moved into their Phoenix, Arizona home earlier this year and have been tackling the renovating slowly but surely ever since. Two self-proclaimed “budgeteers,” the couple seldom buys anything new, opting instead for vintage finds, affordable DIYs, and discount steals. With this penny-pinching credo in mind, the Lentines set to work on renovating their dining room. The previous iteration was a cramped, clashing, and dismally-lit space, filled with inappropriate floor tiles and out-of-place light fixtures. The end result, a combination of budget eBay finds, beautiful added moldings, and opened up space, is stunning. And accomplished for a little over $4,000, it proves that style, thrift, and time can be a winning combination for a beautiful space. Check out more photos, plus the complete object/budget breakdown after the jump!

Above: Felicia assembled her dining room’s table and bench using DIY instructions from Anna White (Table, Bench). They’re stained using Varathane’s American Walnut. The hanging light fixture is Pottery Barn’s Rustic Glass Pendant. The walls are painted in Behr’s Porpoise.
